Salon Headline of the Day

The simultaneously funniest and saddest thing about Patton Oswalt's #SalonArticles trending topic game over the weekend, which sought to create the most ridiculous liberal outrage porn headline in the name of skewering Salon, is that in the end Salon will always show up everybody. That's the joke: Nobody can parody Salon better than Salon can parody itself.

Salon, I salute you.

You think that's bad? Check THIS out:

I almost laughed my ass off reading that piece. You could practically HEAR the author, Rebecca Solnit, masturbating as she typed that literal love-letter to Snowden one-handed (she signed it "Love") gushing about how we are all "watching a live espionage movie in which you are the protagonist and perhaps the sacrifice" and how his "young, pale, thoughtful face speaks with clarity and incisiveness."

She described how she fantasizes about hiding him "like Anne Frank."

I could only stomach skimming the rest of the article after the first few paragraphs or so. It was making me queasy.

Is that seriously what they think of him? Honestly comparing him to Prometheus because of his "invaluable gift" to humanity?

And they dare call people "Obamabots?"

"It features Vera Farmiga, an actress too strange and too powerful for mainstream Hollywood stardom"

What the fuck does that even mean? No, really. WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN? Is she a sorceress, feared and loathed by the Hollywood Illuminati?
