Listening Post

One of those covers that's a case of the perfect band doing the perfect song.

Here's Mother Love Bone's cover of the 1972 Argent semi-classic Hold Your Head Up.

Thanks for playing this; Mother Love Bone brings back a lot of great memories. What a terrific band with a tremendous amount of potential. Sorely missed. To this day, the finest tribute to Andrew Wood (besides his own music and influence) is the Temple of the Dog album (itself one of the great records of the 90s).

I'd love to have seen what the 90's pop culture and soundscape would've been like if Wood lived--there'd be no Pearl Jam if he had, so let that sink in for a moment. He was definitely one of a kind. Great, great music.

Now I have to go watch Pearl Jam 20 again.
