The Lying Game

As promised yesterday, my latest piece for the Daily Banter is now up. The subject: the amusing online attack on Madonna by Deadmau5, and Madonna's entirely predictable response to it.

Here's the opening salvo:

"I’m always amazed at just how stupid and gullible the rarefied within our culture think the rest of us are. I’m talking specifically about those we’ve inexplicably elevated to the rank of 'celebrity' -- although the definition could easily be broadened to include a good portion of the so-called 1%.

I know there are more important and personally detrimental examples of somebody standing far more than an arm’s reach away from the masses and lying to their collective face, expecting nobody to notice, but believe it or not I haven’t seen one as egregious in quite a while as the case of, well, Madonna-gate. Yeah, I know it’s kind of trifling in the big picture, but bear with me..."

I take issue with your description of the almost elderly diva as being "perimenopausal".

Hell, Chez, she's past that! She's now post-menopausal at 53!

Of course, you can't tell by looking at her, thanks to her really excellent plastic surgeon.

Anyhoo, in my humble opinion, she should quit while she's ahead.

Bravo! What a lovely takedown.
I would like to take this opportunity to call Madonna a C.U.N.T. --and by C.U.N.T. I mean a Curiously Unctuous Nasty Trollop. It's a compliment really, you shouldn't take it as literal, it's all in the context and you should understand what I meant to say and not what I actually said, you know. Santorum knows what I'm talking about with the Blahs and Romney as the worst Republican ever; people can be so reactionary with their hearing and reading comprehension. it's almost like some people have disease and want to call me on what I actually said and not what I meant to say once I've been called on it. I mean just the other day I told my friend, "Hey Molly, you're such a C.U.N.T." And of course we cried and hugged because it's all so beautiful. Time to exit stage left, your day as iconoclast and diva are long gone. Buh Bye and thanks for the memories, not just go.
