17 degrees and snowy as hell. Driving was -- challenging. Very happily in for the night after a terrific New Mexican dinner with an old friend in Albuquerque. Today's travels took me to Ft. Sumner, New Mexico, where Billy the Kid was killed, and through the ruins of various ancient towns along Route 66. The bitter wind, leaden skies and snow flurries made them seem even more forlorn and haunted. Gorgeous stuff.
Stats:
Stopped in Albuquerque, NM at 4:38PM MT. 1,966 total miles traveled.

I don't think you're going anywhere tomorrow. Right now, I-40 is closed in both directions out of ABQ.
Yup. All the highways are shut down. Guess it's another day -- or at least several hours -- where I am followed by a very likely sprint to Vegas. Crap.
Today in Northern AZ along the Mogollon Rim will be snow showers, and there's already a foot and a half on the ground. But tomorrow is forecast to be clear. If you have to go through AZ today, sprinting may not be an option. Be safe (yes I know that's the 10 millionth time you've heard that--its a maternal thing)
I am really, really loving your photographs.
On the opposite coast,
the weather is the opposite.
