The whole 60s grindhouse soundtrack retro thing is huge in the alt scene right now, and nobody does it with more audacity -- meaning they may as well be plucked directly from, say, 1968 -- than the Black Angels.

Bad Vibrations is one of my favorites on the new(ish) album.
I just saw them 2 or 3 weeks ago and as amazing as they are recorded, they are mind-blowing live. Definitely worth seeing them if they're playing anywhere nearby.
Anyone who has time should give Black Grease a listen as well. If that riff doesn't invade your skull immediately, you might not have a soul.
