Quote of the Day, Jr.

"Newsweek subscribers, upon receiving this issue, will probably scratch their heads trying to remember when they signed up for a trial subscription to It Puts The Lotion In The Basket Weekly."

-- Tommy Christopher at Mediaite on the new issue of Newsweek which features an especially crazy-looking photo of the generally crazy Michele Bachmann on its cover

The always-entertaining conservative media watchdog site Newsbusters is of course immediately decrying the cover, saying that Newsweek set out to purposely disparage Bachmann with it. Right, it's Newsweek that makes her look completely batshit.

By the way, it's taking no time at all for the cover to turn into an internet meme. Compliments of Funny or Die, here are a few quickly photoshopped gems:

No one thought of "A Whole lotta Chutzpah?"

Adding: where the hell are her eyebrows? For that matter...what the hell is wrong with her face?

Well, if she doesn't get the nomination, she can console herself that she's a shoo-in for the inevitable remake/reboot of David Cronenberg's Scanners....

American politics would feel REALLY sad these days if things weren't alleviated by many Americans' sharp wit.

That's it! I am subscribing to Newsweek
magazine simply because they don't photo-chop their images.

Ah, another hatchet job from the dominant liberal media culture. It starts with a pack of big lies in an article from the MSM and then lefty bloggers like you pile on mocking the conservatives values that the person holds dear. The honorable Rep. Bachmann cares about her 20 children, free market$, fairer taxation, God, guns and what size Jack Rabbit she needs to purchase.
Amen,
Bill

Anon - 4 grams of shrooms and three hits of acid. As far as her eyebrows, Marcus likes 'em that way, they accessorize with the earrings or pubes.

Oh, wait. Marcus Bachmann. Definitely the earrings.

I'm not sure if Bill's comments are tongue-in-cheek or not, but it does raise a question: why is that in the media conservative values have to be revered, but liberal values are rejected with contempt?
