(Crazy) Quote of the Day

"(It) would be a great thing to do, but because the Senate is controlled by Democrats we would never be able to get the Senate first to take up that action, because they simply don’t care what the American public thinks. They would protect him and they wouldn’t even bring it up."

-- Former Godfather's Pizza CEO and current GOP presidential candidate and walking punchline Herman Cain on the possibility of impeaching President Obama

My favorite thing about this isn't that Herman Cain wants to see Obama impeached even though he couldn't for the life of him give you a legitimate reason why, certainly not one that would hold up against any scrutiny; that sort of comical insanity is par for the course among the circus clowns that make up the current Republican party. No, what's noteworthy, if only for the sheer scope of the delusional thinking it illustrates, is that Cain honestly seems to believe that the American people he's invoking en masse want to see Barack Obama impeached and that only the Democratic-controlled Senate is standing in the way of their will being done.

That's the kind of crazy you just can't put a price tag on.

It tells you that they don't think impeachment really means anything. It is just something to say, a word that sounds impressive as a threat.

I think you've hit some sort of record today with "quote of the day" posts. Sigh. We don't really need records like that, though.

At this point it's kind of a running gag.
