Memed Corn

Behold the result of a project dreamed up by the students of Michigan's Grand Valley State University and the nearby Clark Retirement Community. May as well watch this now and get in on the ground floor of the mania. By tomorrow morning this thing will be everywhere, and these "singin' seniors"* will be the latest insta-celebrities the entire country will be fawning over.

You can practically hear the morning show bookers knocking over their coffee as they rush to their phones.

Not sure it's gonna be such a good idea, though, to tell anyone this old that he or she has "gone viral."

*Local news copywriters, you don't have to thank me.

Aaaaw, jesus. If that doesn't make you warm and fuzzy then there's something wrong with the calloused cockles of your tiny black heart.

Mario Kart reference was a nice touch.

If you like this, rent "Forever Young". The documentary is about a traveling road show of oldsters actually singing rock songs to live audiences - no dubs and a live (younger) band. They kick out the jams - especially liked the "Talking Heads" covers. When the inevitable band member deaths occur, I cried like a baby. The band leader has the patience of Job.

That was...truly great. Makes me reconsider my application to Dignitas.

I didn't realize they were rebooting Cocoon too.
