All that needs to be said is IOWA. That's it...what else needs to be said?
was this focus group chosen because they were already determined to be crazy and seriously misinformed or is this a actual snapshot of the average republican voter in iowa?when i see things like this, i'm grateful that i got a new prescription for ambien or i'd never sleep again. as for the dreams... on second thought, maybe i'll just stay awake.
People are stupid.
So, they believe the leader of our Republic does not know what a Republic is. I don't know that THEY know what a Republic is.
That group was handpicked. I'd be hard-pressed to find that many right-wing lunatics in my hometown of Des Moines, and I grew up Republican.
Well, yes -- but it was handpicked by Luntz and Fox.
Hey, caucuses of all kinds tend to attract zealots. This Democrat says, "Hurray for Iowa's nutjob Republican caucus-goers! Pick whoever the hell you want, the weirder the better!"
Recently with a group of conservative men who thought "Idiocracy" was a reflection on the stupidity of liberals. I have never seen the movie, but I bet the folks in the movie talk in a similar fashion to that focus group. Thank you Fox News, you have decayed the brains of millions. I just don't see how this works out as a win for the good old USA.
I really do my best to be as even-handed as possible; I've mentioned before that I actually agree with quite a few traditionally conservative tenets. But much of the right's unapologetic embrace of the unbelievably stupid and detached from reason is just too pronounced to ignore. William F. Buckley is turning over in his grave, and I know that what we're all seeing is inarguable because there's currently a schism building within the Republican party between those who realize that they've created (or at the very least enabled) a monster and allowed it to run rampant over everything bit of good sense, and the monster itself. These people are just nuts; they're so terrified and those fears have been stoked so ruthlessly by cynical, profit-minded clowns like Beck and Limbaugh that they're immune not only to rational discussion but to reality itself.
IOWA is an acronym: Idiots Out Wandering Around.
Making fun of Iowan's misses the point. Google the subject and you will find as of last August over 30% of Republicans think Obama is a Muslim, and about 60% thought he was more concerned with the interests of Muslims than Americans. It ain't Iowa's problem, it's our problem, and it is growing. Also, too, Google Obama and the anti-Christ. I now sleep with a light on, or the demon Obama may strike me when I nod off...
While saddening, don't forget that Iowa did legalize gay marriage something that most of the country hasn't. So this group isn't completely representative of Iowans!
