Quote of the Day

"Saying slavery was the cause of secession isn't politically correct; it's correct correct."

-- Larry Wilmore of The Daily Show, on South Carolina and the Sons of the Confederacy's upcoming celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the state's secession from the union, which predictably attempts to whitewash (no pun intended) the very reason the South chose to secede in the first place

Just in passing, Larry Wilmore made an identical statement on The Daily Show several weeks ago.

This is an especially timely denial with the NY Times DISUNION blog. It's chronicling, in roughly real-time, the Civil War beginning from the election of Lincoln. Many of the recent articles are all about the South Carolina secession convention and the very clear motivations for secession.

Drove behind a pickup with Connecticut plates and a giant confederate flag sticker yesterday. I said to myself, "Dude, you're the north."

Thank you.

Second pass. Gave real name before (gawd, they know I'm me, now!). Forgot not to after decookieing.

Seriously off subject, here's a Christmas cadeau for those of you still unaware.
