Listening Post

It's almost time to begin counting down the Top 25 Singles of 2010 -- so with that in mind, over the next couple of days I'll post the songs that were just barely edged out of the list. This is one of them: a really devastating little track from Christina Perri that treads well-worn territory but does it exceptionally well.

Here's Jar of Hearts.

I could have done without the cheesy dance routine but the song is def devastating--very apt description. Thanks for sharing.

the dance is actually from 'so you think you can dance' which is the show that gave christina perri her big break with this song.

Regardless, it is a little annoying. Then again, so are all dance-themed shows.

true, but i think that minor detail gives her a bit of a free pass to use dance...

...but just this once.

Actually, the dancing in the video (and 'So You Think You Can Dance') is quite amazing. That is all.

It's a good enough song that just about any bit of interpretive silliness in the video is entirely forgivable.

I've run in the same circles with her musician brother back in Philly and never knew that she would break out huge. Something in this song just slays me.
