Holy Shit

Depressing.

And not the least bit surprising.

I would agree with you that it's a bit silly to look toward the bible to find the age of the universe. The purpose of scripture is to describe the relationship between man and God. It would be like looking at a cookbook to figure out how to change the oil in your car.

However, I don't think it's any more absurd to look at the universe and conclude it was authored by a greater being than it is to do the same and conclude it just came about of its own accord.

I'm surprised it's that low.

Also, how about that backroom-of-Spencer's-Gifts blacklight velvet painting of the epic awesomeness of god creating the earth by essentially giving us the finger.

Hahahahaha Votar!
And of course, if there is some cranky old man/god up there he's been giving us the finger ever since!

Agreed, Steven. Just the same, I'm so glad I'm Canadian.

It meshes quite well with the news that 40% of Americans would consider voting for Sarah Palin.

It's depressing that 60% of Americans are going to hell? Agreed.

Chez,

The image you posted reminded me
that tonight is the lunar eclipse.

Thank you!

I'm going to hell, Captain Cloud? But what about the fact that I'm honest, and nice. I do unto others as I would have done unto me. I don't steal, and I don't kill. I'm kind to strangers. I just don't happen to believe in "God Almighty." Why would your benevolent god choose to punish me for all of eternity? Your god is a big, controlling, meanie. And he doesn't seem to like women very much, from what I can tell.

Trixi, you're not going to hell for believing in evolution, you're going to hell for calling me "Captain Cloud".

Sorry; gods and clowns scare me. Force of habit.

I think for a lot of the fence-riding non-religious denying creationism is the final step into having to admit they no longer believe in God.

Pussies.

Why does Genesis 35:18, Matthew 10:28, in the Bible, oppose creationism with traducianism?
