Damn this man was cool -- as evidenced by this scene from one of my favorite movies pretty much ever: The Great Race, starring Jack Lemmon, Natalie Wood and, of course, Tony Curtis.

When my now 12 year old was 2, we were staying at the Four Seasons in San Diego. For some reason, he was out in the hall in just a diaper, running from me to a guy in a very groovy collarless suit. When I heard a very familiar voice say "Whaaat ahhh maaan you ahhh." I looked up and it was Tony Curtis holding my son.
He was cool.

The Great Race is an awesome move, and not just because Natale Wood was hot. The Great Leslie was quite the stud.

Fuck! If you haven't seen it, one of his best performances, Sweet Smell of Success is worth a look for remembrance. Of course, Some Like it Hot. Man, I love me the Jack Lemmon! RIP Tony.
