Listening Post

The covers performed by the bands that play BBC 1's Live Lounge are always interesting, to say the least. Is this one a hit or a miss? I'll let you be the judge.

Here's 30 Seconds to Mars doing Lady GaGa's Bad Romance.

(Whatever you think, it's better than that annoying kid with the Justin Bieber hair -- the one who's managed to become the next tween sensation we'll all be forced to suffer through by posting a clip of himself playing Paparazzi on YouTube. Somebody please stop the madness.)

A wee bit too much emo. Just like any other young band, they obviously have some talent, but I'd be far more impressed if they played their own content.

Well it's not like this is their only song. Their last album was pretty average (although I've already said that I thought it contained the best single released last year) but the one before that, A Beautiful Lie, was damn good.

Miss. Hard to believe a version of that song could be sleep-inducing...

Put me in the "miss" column too. It's not terrible, but it's not anything to great either. Their Radio One cover of Stronger was great though so I guess there is still hope for them.

A Beautiful Lie was great.

Oh, Jordan Catalano, you have come so far ;o)

I'm all about the cover.

As I kind of hinted at, I haven't really made up my mind about it.
