The World Spins Madly On

Just a quick dispatch from Malcontent Central: You've probably noticed that it's been a little slow around here for the past week or so. Unfortunately, not only is that not likely to change over the coming week -- it'll probably get worse. Sorry, kids, but I've got a hell of a lot on my plate right now and as much as I hate to say it, that means that the wholesome, quality family entertainment you've come to expect from this site has to take a brief backseat to other pursuits. Once I get a handle on balancing everything -- either that or the patented Acme more-hours-in-the-day machine I ordered arrives in the mail -- things should start getting back to normal. Until then, there'll be the usual Quote of the Day segments, as well as Listening Posts, a few links here and there, and some recycled pieces, but other than that -- barring some big bit of breaking news I feel like cutting into my sleeping time to comment on -- I'll be uncharacteristically quiet.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Well it's not like I'm vanishing or anything -- just cutting back on the output here for the next week or so.

Hope it's good busy--fun, profitable, whatever--as opposed to bad busy.

Regardless, hope everything works our copacetictastically. (Real word. Look it up.)

Do we get any hints as to what your extracurricular activities are now or did your prior experience leave you with the notion of keeping work separate from your blog?

Off-subject. Okay, there's none anyway. Harrumph.

As you enjoy him so, here's Rufus on Lady Gaga. Not literally, of course.

The guy expresses himself effectively.

Thanks, Alanna.

It's mostly because I have a deficient email facility that I use this method. Otherwise, I might well be emailing Chez.

Hope all goes well with your busy-ness.

It's obvious, this delay is Chez stuck in the UK due to the volcanic ash from Iceland.
