I think you quote Taibbi too much. I read True/Slant too. You are a better writer. He should quote you.
Well, shucks. I actually like Taibbi quite a bit, especially when he gets really vitriolic.
It's about time Goldman Sachs was being looked at.
Taibbi has some great moments, but I think as a whole you have him beat. You should challenge him to a Throwdown.

Imho - some similarities, a lot of differences in writing style - both genius. I was over at the GS "compound" this summer meeting a pal. It's unreal just how pompous nearly everyone who works in that building appears. Not just cogs in a machine but a feeling like each one is aware of their indivual roles as human players in a game of Mousetrap. The anxiety is palpable.And, yeah, I wondered how other banks were scrutinized but GS simply got away with murder.
Bah. We've seen this before. SEC comes out breathing fire, defendants settle for nominal fine and admit no wrongdoing two years later. Lather, rinse, repeat. My cat will suffer more punishment for puking on the rug.
