Bonus Quote of the Day

"Obviously, we’re open to discussions before then, but we think our request is quite reasonable."

-- Insufferable drama queen Joe Lieberman, who's apparently grown tired of not being paid attention to for a whole week and is now in the process of issuing subpoenas to the Obama administration over, of all things, the Fort Hood shooting

Does anyone else think he looks like someone left Kevin Spacey next to a radiator for too long in that pic?

The Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee asking questions about government activities?

Those 'checks and balances', spotlight seekers!

How dare they!

Uh-huh. And where the fuck was old Joe while the previous administration was obfuscating in the face of numerous, potentially far more damning investigations?

Yeah, I thought so.

You whine if Leiberman doesn’t investigate Bush (which for the record, there were investigations out of his committees, albeit not amounting to much). I get that.

You now whine that he wants to look into an issue that we all have questions about. You whined when he didn't and now you whine when he does.

You are like one of the people yelling at the other driver’s when they pass you on the highway, whining about the cops hanging out in the donut shops. Then you complain when you get a ticket. "I want you to do your job, I just don’t want you to do your job to me."

Or, in the words of the great American philosopher, Prince Rogers Nelson; “ Maybe you're just like my mother - She's never satisfied”

Follow the link, he is issuing subpoenas because he can't get the information through the channels that he WANTS to get it through.

He sits on another committee that has unfettered access to that information when it is requested (it's a privacy issue thing).

He just wants it HIS way. In other words, he is being an attention whore.

Fort Hood is fairly low on the list of things that could have been investigated during the last administration and should be investigated during this administration. It is, however, an emotionally-charged issue that will get Droopy Dog lots of face time.
