This 1952 cartoon was mentioned in the comment section last week and I just had to post it because it's a) all kinds of politically incorrect, and b) really freakin' funny.
Even as a kid watching this in re-runs on Saturdays -- this one was a favorite. The timing, the non-stop gags.. fantastic stuff.
But considering that this conductor trope was something Tex Avery went back to again and again over his years with MGM and Warner -- it makes me wonder if there was a real-life orchesrtal conductor who ever pissed in his cornflakes or something.

I dunno. I think the portrayal of the South is pretty spot on. :P
But not enough modern cartoons have opera.
