Season's Greedings

I figure what with the fact that this is the first day of December, a few days before I head off to New York for a whirlwind trip that will bring Inara to me for the holidays and, dear God, a mere ten days before I turn 40, now's as good a time as any to kick off our big Holiday Pledge Drive around here.

You know how this works: I put my little hat out on the sidewalk and pester you nice people walking by into dropping in a few of your hard-earned dollars just so I'll leave you the hell alone -- or at least go take a shower.

As always, if you like the stuff you find here at Deus Ex Malcontent -- if it makes you laugh, cry, think, get appropriately pissed-off, whatever -- there are a couple of ways you can support the site. If you haven't picked up a copy of my book, Dead Star Twilight, please do so. You can purchase it as a PDF file e-book that will immediately be downloaded to your computer by clicking here.

The other way you can show a little love is to donate money via the Paypal electronic tip jar in the right-hand sidebar of this screen. This site is free and always will be. I don't clutter it up with ads for products you probably wouldn't care about anyway; I don't demand a subscription or anything silly like that. This is a strictly reader-supported endeavor.

I put a lot of effort into Deus Ex Malcontent, but it's always been a labor of love and one that means more to me than just about anything else I do professionally. I love this little experiment of mine; it's my personality in every way and it's allowed me a voice I otherwise wouldn't have had. Judging by the surprisingly decent numbers I regularly pull in and the reaction from you guys, you enjoy the site and value the time and effort put into it.

So, if you feel like you can afford to in these tough times, please give a little toward it. Once again, I rely on you, the readers, to keep DXM running. You of course don't have to donate; I'll likely keep doing this regardless. But if you can spare a couple of bucks because the material you find here is a welcome and entertaining part of your day, then it'd certainly be appreciated by yours truly.

Thanks again for reading and we now return you to your regularly scheduled nonsense.

I'll have updates on our Holiday Pledge Drive throughout the rest of the week and into the early part of next.

FYI your Dead Star link in this post is throwing up a 404 for me.

Hmmm... well that's not good. Let me see what's going on.

Okay, it's fixed. They must've moved the link without telling me.

You're kind of a hobo.

An astute observation.

Every time I see a red Salvation Army donation bucket a little part of me dies knowing how much money they're bringing in to support (and campaign for) legislation against civil rights for LGBT peoples.

Oh, but I hear they help homeless on the side.

Hey Chez, I'd like to purchase an acutal copy of your book (as opposed to an e-copy) to help support the site but I refuse to do anything through Paypal. I tried googling it to see if I could purchase another way but to no avail. I'm sure the answer is staring me in the face but if you could point me in the right direction that would be very helpful. Thanks.

Sorry, Jadine. Unfortunately right now it's only available as an e-book. If you don't want to go through Paypal I'm not sure what to tell you. Contact me by e-mail and we'll see what we can work out.
