The 4AD label has always been synonymous with a pretty specific kind of sound: swirling sonic tapestries of dark and gorgeous, often downright ethereal melody and rhythm. 4AD bands have included Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil, Lush, GusGus, even extending out to more straightforward acts like the Pixies and the Breeders.
Add to that list now The Big Pink, an electro-pop duo from London whose debut album, A Brief History of Love, seems to perfectly encapsulate all the best qualities of the 4AD brand.
This is another record that's damn good from start to finish and here's the first single from it -- Dominos.
