Listening Post

What would you get if you genetically fused the White Stripes, the Black Keys, Ben Folds and Maroon 5? No idea, but I bet it would create something that sounds like one of my favorite debut albums to come along in years -- seriously, an album that's good from start to finish.

Download this entire record immediately.

Here's Crash Kings -- Mountain Man.

Many thanks for the recommendation on this one, Chez. Excellent from start to finish indeed.

I also recommend that you check out Rival Sons; they've got a fairly similar--albeit not as bright--sound, and the vocalists have eerily similar voices. While you're at it, check out Rival Sons' lead singer Jay Buchanan's old band Buchanan, and their only record All Understood for a different but equally engrossing experience.

Apparently you have some strange power over me that I was not aware of until just now. You said to download immediately, so I did. No questions asked. Remember, with great power comes great responsibility.
