(Insane) Quote of the Week

"Obama's first act as president of any consequence, in the middle of a financial meltdown, was to send taxpayers' money overseas to pay for the killing of unborn children in other countries. Now, I got to tell you, if a president will do that, there's almost nothing that you should be surprised at after that. We shouldn't be shocked that he does all these other insane things. A president that has lost his way that badly, that has no ability to see the image of God in these little fellow human beings, if he can't do that right, then he has no place in any station of government and we need to realize that he is an enemy of humanity."

-- Republican Rep. Trent Franks of Arizona at Saturday's "How To Take Back America" conference (a helpful hint: saying unconscionable horseshit like this isn't the way)

Yo, Chez, I'm really proud of your blog and Imma let you finish, but Trent Franks had one of the best speeches of all time. Of all Time!

This is just unreal.

And, what is he talking about? Maybe Bill S. White, Esq. can fill us in on the money Obama sent overseas...don't remember hearing about that one.

What is this man even talking about? Is he just pissed off that Obama reduced the bullshit religious baggage that Bush attached to international aid?

what ever happened to his face obviously effected his brain.

Here is what he is talking about:
"On the day after the 36th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, President Barack Obama repealed a Reagan-era policy that prohibited foreign nongovernmental family-planning groups from receiving U.S. funds if they provided abortions or even lobbied for abortion rights in their country."
This in no way makes him an enemy of humanity - what total bullshit! It just means that he wants women and children who are already born and, ya know, need health care to have access to it. Typical "I only care about life in the womb...once you're out, you are on your own."
PS - Clinton also lifted this ban but Bush laid it back on.

While I fully support Rep. Franks's First Amendment rights, this kind of hatespeech, particularly, the phrase, "enemy of humanity", needs to be brought to light and he needs to be condemned for it. If the Dixie Chicks can be persecuted for what Natalie Maines said about W, then surely this man should be held to ridicule at the very least for his ridiculous claims. Further, this borders upon incitement. I truly believe the right wing will not be happy until Obama is dead. Make no mistake, these are the same people who rejoiced at the deaths of JFK, RFK, and MLK and they feel completely justified to pray and wish for Obama's assassination.

There should be a law that when politicians go to far they get tasered. Repeatedly. Preferably while somebody with a rolled up newspaper beats them over the nose yelling "bad, bad doggie!".

Mike Malloy was talking about this jerk tonight. Franks is a waste of oxygen.

He's jumping on the crazy train, winking to all the lunatics to go ahead and start shooting. People like him need to be held accountable for their words.
