Man, those Indians are serious about their movie memorabilia.

This story saddened me more yesterday than my husband telling me there was no chance of a reconciliation. Because at least I have my beautiful daughter. And someone would sell his? This lovely world can be very evil.
All I know is, she's gonna look so nice on the shelf next to my Star Wars action figures and my Remains of the Day lunchbox.
So that would then make you Dr. Quest, Inara would be Johnny Quest and she would be Hadji. But who would be Race Bannon?
Is the Planet Hollywood in Myrtle Beach still open? She'd look great in their lobby.
I agree Chez, that blue dress (or the yellow one from Slumdog) would go well with my Franklin Mint The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music collectors plates. If she can occasionally dust them off too, that'd be great!
On a less snarky note, if indeed she's being sold I hope someone with a good heart takes her in, instead of her ending up in some creepy Sheikh's pervy harem. Though the Fark thread on the subject seems to suggest that the "News of the World" is basically the British "National Enquirer" and should be trusted as such.
Christopher Guest is my hero
Come on Chez. The dad says he was just being polite by not saying a flat out "no", because in India, you are not RUDE to people. Give a guy a break why don't ya. He was just being NICE.
And who wouldn't be NICE to the guy who offers to purchase your child from you...
(That "don't be rude" policy must change for Indians when they move to the US though, because having worked at an Indian owned company for 5+ years, I can assure you that people were rude to me all the time.)
He's saying he wasn't selling the kid, just her services for a commercial. Riiiight...
Whatever. I've seen those slums, and heard some horror stories, and I have no trouble believing this could - and does - happen. Where's Madonna when you need her?
