Listening Post

I actually posted this song once before -- as part of the Dead Star Twilight "soundtrack." But in my opinion, you can never have too much of it, as it's very close to my favorite song of all-time because it moves me in indescribable ways.

Here's Zero 7's Destiny.

You and me both man. Such a great tune, even if in my case it's leaden with memories that are sometimes tough to revisit.

Hope all is well (as much as it can be).

This song is perfection.

That is such a great song, as are so many Zero 7 songs. "Distractions" brings up all kinds of good and bad feelings/memories for me.

I had the good fortune of seeing them perform at a KCRW benefit concert with a line-up that featured just about every band I was into at the time. One highlight was Sia Furler and Beck doing an acoustic song together... I wish I could get a recording of that show.

Nika --

You're right.

I thought about putting up Distractions, but I figured that would be a little too heavy-handed. The tough thing though is that the entire Simple Things record always reminds me of Jayne, since I listened to little else when I was first living in NY and met her. It was the soundtrack to the city -- and us.

The Simple Things record was my soundtrack to a past relationship. I used to sit in my car before work and listen to Distractions and cry... That was before I really knew it was over, but obvioulsy knew something was wrong. Interesting to think back on it. Now that I think about it, I haven't listened to that record since. I think I will dig that one out tonight, it's been long enough and I forgot how good it is. Hang in there...
