For That, Let's Go Live to Our Reporter in Sunny Miami...

Just a heads-up from Malcontent Central: I managed to escape the Great Snowstorm of '09 just in time. I'm now in Miami, where I'll be for the next week or so.

Down here on a combination of business and pleasure. Got the little one with me visiting her grandparents (we're both missing Mom).

I'll be updating this site regularly; I'll just be doing it from a remote location. The only difference you might notice will be that you can actually feel me sitting outdoors in the sun, sipping a mojito as I type.

Indeed -- the life.

Sipping mojitos at 8:48 in the morning? What's the saying?

"You can take the boy out of Miami, but not Miami out of the boy!"

Enjoy the warmth. (Relatively speaking.)

Me? Too bad, I'll won't be there for another 2 weeks. (J.P's. 40th.)

I wanted to send you a virtual punch to the face but then I realized I'm really enjoying the snow day. The whole family is home and wet gloves and coats are already hanging up to get ready for the second snow outing. It's sweet. :) As a Canadian living in Va, it doesn't happen too often.

I have an arty snow picture on my blog in case you feel like you're missing out. :P

*grumble* mojito drinking mother....

can you feel the jealousy as I type?

We're sort of looking at you guys in wonder: this storm is skirting south of Ontario completely.

Only the U.S. is getting it.* And people don't seem to have snow tires on their cars down in the Carolinas, go figure.

*Well, Qu├ębec and Fredericton will, but I'll ignore that for now.

I enjoyed five years on the beach and in the sun at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (1979-82 and 1985). That was a great place to be a poor student with a school uniform of shorts, t-shirt, and barefeet. Enjoy those drinks with umbrellas in them! We had a pair of 80 degrees days over the weekend here in Southern California. This afternoon we got a few raindrops. Yes, I have seen light snow in Virginia. I was stationed at Langley AFB, Hampton/Newport News, Virginia in 1973-74. Hang loose! Yetijuice

Jnez -- Exactly who are you?

For the record, if you or anyone else can find me Wes, the former guitarist for ATF and a long-lost friend of mine, I'll be forever in your debt.

Good luck finding a guy whose real name is Juan Hernandez somewhere in Hialeah (I'm talking about a specific Juan Hernandez).
