Down with the Sickness

Just a heads-up from the management:

I'm sick as hell -- fever, coughing, congestion, nausea, the whole bit -- and got about two hours total of sleep last night (which is especially crappy when you consider that Inara slept silently from 8pm yesterday until 7am this morning).

The bottom line is that I probably won't be putting much up today. If I start feeling better a little later that could change, but for now I'm resting comfortably on the couch, trying to think of a way to hook a bottle to the side of the baby's crib so that she can eat gerbil-style for the next six hours while I sleep.

I'm kidding.

I think.

Be back soon.

Yeah, I'm sick too. No sleep, and I think I may have strep. Sucks especially since I had the stomache flu no more than two and a half weeks ago. I have a design deadline to meet coming up, and need to somehow make myself ready for a trip to New Jersey by Sunday, which may or may not happen. Anywho, this looked like a good opportunity to gripe. I hope you (we) start feeling better soon.

Out! Ye demons of illness! Out from Chez's lungs and gut, ye foul abominations. Leave ye hands off this man, Satan! In the name of Jesus!

(It works better, I think, if I smack you in the forehead and knock you down on cheap carpet runners between ranks of pews.)

Nice one, Deacon. At my ex-church they had a guy whose breath knocked people over. Or so it seemed. Most. Awkward. In-law. Visit. Ever.

Get better, Chez! I'm gonna start looking into gerbil-style baby self-feeders for you, that's a great idea.

Do you have sick time accrued? Just kidding, get well. I'll just have to make due with. . .who the hell am I going to get my news from? Votar? Last time I was at his blog Marisa Tomei jubblies popped up in my face, not that I mind, it's just that I was at work. Ever been to stuffonmycat.com? LAME! This is what I am reduced too now that Chez is out sick. What about ratemymullet.com - omfg, the list goes on and on - help me!

I think we'll survive. Maybe Beefy Guy's mommy can make you some chicken soup, too.

Well, I don't know about news, but you can get your dose of current-event related snark from the perspective of an 80-year-old no-holds-barred granny at http://margaretandhelen.wordpress.com/

If nothing else, the comment sections will keep you busy for hours.

I blame the pancake hat.

Were I not in Michigan there'd be a home-made pot of chicken soup delivered to your front door tomorrow, along with a dozen sweet apples. Cooked apples are among the best first things to eat once your stomach starts to recover...
