From Arianna Huffington's "Sunday Roundup":
"In the wake of Obama's overwhelming victory, and Democratic gains in the House and Senate, conservatives are desperately trying to convince the world that these results are meaningless. "Democrats should not make the mistake of viewing Tuesday's results as a repudiation of conservatism," insisted John Boehner. "Barack Obama understands this is a center-right country," claimed Karl Rove. "This country remains every bit as center-right as it has for a generation," parroted Brent Bozell. And David Brooks dreamed of an Obama administration that understands "this was an election where the middle asserted itself." Drunk on self-delusion, a staggering GOP whistles past the electoral graveyard, missing the whole point of this election: the center has shifted, and positions that used to be considered left-wing -- on healthcare, on global warming, on corporate responsibility, on Iraq -- are now solidly mainstream."

These people are absolutely immune to evidence. They've been claiming for YEARS that Barack Obama is the biggest leftest in the U.S. Senate. Now his election means the country wants to go center right? If we elected the ghost of Karl Marx would that mean we were concerned about the economy and therefore wanted Republican style fiscal conservatism? If we elected Satan would that prove we believed the bible and thus are a Christian Nation?
In order for your blathering assertions to be meaningful in any way they have to be falsifiable. Maybe not in a strict scientific sense, but there has to be some series of events that will make you change your opinion in the face of new evidence. That isn't true for Republican pundits.
Boehner is not gonna get to suck W's boner anymore. Oh boo hoo.
For god's sake DON'T TELL THEM. If they realize how stupid the are, they might change. I want the GOP losing elections for generations. They've gotten wiped out in two consecutive elections and can keep happening so long as we don't help them wise up.
I thought corporate responsibility actually was "conservative". As opposed to the government's bailing out irresponsible corporations. Go figure
I think the GOP just does whatever it wants to do and calls it "conservative" to pander to the part of the electorate that also calls itself "conservative".
