This was my favorite cereal as a kid.
I would ask my mom for it because I always felt like the clown looked vaguely sad -- like the company had threatened to fire him as a mascot or something if people didn't start buying.
Poor clown. He's doing his best.

And Now, Apropos of Nothing, a Tiny Glimpse into My Personal Neuroses

Holy crap. I ate that stuff when I was a kid. I remember those creepy little cereal faces. It's like they were begging me to bite them in half because they knew they'd be smiling up at me from the toilet bowl in an hour.
This somehow really explains a lot about you.
Good grief, I haven't seen a box of that stuff in close to 25 years.
I may be young but the only thing coming to mind when I see that is "where's the kaboom? There's supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!"
It's those little crow's feet around his eye that do it for me: they make it look like he's absolutely desperately keeping that smile on his face...
That's just about the cutest thing ever. Although the cereal looks scary.
I too loved this cereal as a kid, this and Pink Panther Flakes.
I'm not sure you were aware of this, but...
If you're looking to journey back to yesteryear, and you're feeling nostalgic, it may be your luck day... It's still around!
I have a box, and have access to more!
I hadn't seen it for decades, but found a store nearby that still carries it. I told my kids about it, and now they ask for it too. Not for the happy faces so much, but my boys like the colors, and my daughter digs the marshmallows.
If you want some, say the word, you got it.
Aaron,
Didn't you see Kill Bill Vol.1? The kaboom comes from the free gun in every box!
Quips Now, Quisp Tomorrow, Quisp Forever!
That clown was my father.
He killed himself when he lost that job, shortly after you and your friends turned 12 and decided you were too big to eat a kiddie cereal. I grew up fatherless, haunted by his tragic loss and the unspoken but palpable resentment of my emotionally disturbed mother, who fell into a series of meaningless, tawdry relationships with an endless string of other clowns who, ironically, all arrived in the same tiny car.
Chez, I hope you're happy with the breakfast food you've chosen.
And Tony gets the Comment of the Week award.
So Todd...did he at least go out with a KABOOM?
'Cause it sure sounds like your Mom did!
