Quote of the Week (Honorable Mention)

"I'm going to be as restrained and measured as I possibly can about this. But this is the most mindless, ignorant, uninformed comment that we have seen from Governor Palin so far, and there's been a lot of competition for that prize."

-- Newsweek's Richard Wolffe on Countdown, reacting to Sarah Palin's offhand dismissal of fruit fly research which, apparently unbeknownst to her, has already led to advances in understanding autism

she's a stupid person that should the GOP carry the November election will confirm to the rest of the world that, indeed, the US is a nation of YAHOOs.

thank you Jonathan Swift

Oh screw that, I wanna hear the unrestrained version. His proper, British accent would make it sting all the more.

It would be great if you could also include the original comments - not just the comments on the comments. Thanks!

Yes, as we all know, only elitist swines care about fruit flies! I love the Brit reserve and how calm he sounds when trying to exercise control-my boyfriend is a Brit and I always marvel at how phlegmatic he acts even when he is dialed up to an 11. I, however, don't believe in restraint and yelled "shut up asshole!" and "eat shit dickhead!" repeatedly during her "policy" speech. I love the blog, keep up the good work!

I thought her kid was mongoloid or pc "down syndrom" not autistic. So her unconcern for the advances of a syndrom that her child doens't have would be valid.

I have some fruit flies in the kitchen right now I can donate to a good cause tho.

A few months back, I noticed an article on Fark about scientists that had managed to reverse a gene that caused some fruit flies to be gay. I bet she'd be really interested in THAT research for fruit flies.
