Hilarious! Could this be considered an act of war on Iceland?
Lazy Town freaks me out. I'm just glad we are past that show now..
Two words: Awe. Some. Lazytown is absolutely whacked out. And not in the good way. In the way that makes me fear Icelandic culture.
(And is anyone else concerned that the only actual people on the show are the cute-ish, short-skirted pre-teen and two older men? Just me? Move along, then.)
Add me to the list of people who vaguely or overtly fear Lazy Town. I prefer the Barney and Dora/Diego habit to that show. Especially now that Arthur, Pixar movies, Spongebob and some others are starting to slowly edge out those monstrosities.
Of course, I'm also freaked out by the old Howdy Doody shows that my girl sometimes picks up at the libary, and some freaky show from Canada or Australia or something with some town of clowns that make me want to curl up into a fetal position and enter a catatonic state on those rare occasions she picks that.
On Al-Qaeda Web Sites, Joy Over U.S. Crisis, Support for McCain
["Al-Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming election," said a commentary posted Monday on the extremist Web site al-Hesbah, which is closely linked to the terrorist group. It said the Arizona Republican would continue the "failing march of his predecessor," President Bush.
The Web commentary was one of several posted by Taliban or al-Qaeda-allied groups in recent days that trumpeted the global financial crisis and predicted further decline for the United States and other Western powers. In language that was by turns mocking and ominous, the newest posting credited al-Qaeda with having lured Washington into a trap that had "exhausted its resources and bankrupted its economy." It further suggested that a terrorist strike might swing the election to McCain and guarantee an expansion of U.S. military commitments in the Islamic world.]
[...the comments summarized what has emerged as a consensus view on extremist sites, said Adam Raisman, a senior analyst for the Site Intelligence Group, which monitors Islamist Web pages.]
["The idea in the jihadist forums is that McCain would be a faithful 'son of Bush' -- someone they see as a jingoist and a war hawk," Raisman said. "They think that, to succeed in a war of attrition, they need a leader in Washington like McCain." ]
For some reason these YTIMG sites never work for me, at work or home.
My nieces and nephews loved Lazy Town.
