And the hits just keep on coming.
I'm sorry folks, but this stuff is writing itself at this point.
(The Huffington Post: Exclusive: Palin Says Mission in Iraq a "Task from God"/9.2.08)
And then there's this -- Campbell Brown owning the ever-loving shit out of McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds:
(Update, 8:37pm: McCain canceled an appearance tonight on CNN's Larry King Live as a direct result of the above interview. He says Campbell Brown stepped "over the line" in her grilling of his campaign's lackey. In case you had trouble spotting the line that McCain's talking about, it happened right around the point where you started to think to yourself that the media was finally growing a spine and doing its goddamned job.)

Spanish Inquisition? NOBODY EXPECTS THE AMERICAN CRUSADE! Oh wait, fuck me...
and so is the Rapture....and because of the Palin story, I wish the effin Rapture would get here already
How am I supposed to get any work done when the Palin pick keeps lobbing them in right over the plate?
Don't know if this has been sent your way yet:

At some point I'm gonna have to write about something else, but she's just -- making -- it -- so -- easy.
So that's the spin strategy. Keep bullshitting until the interviewer runs out of time.
Gawd.
I was raised by this sort of lunatic. They are huge proponents of protecting Israel so that it can be around to kick-start Armageddon. HUGE proponents. She is John Ashcroft with a uterus. This is SCARY stuff. Her a 72 year old heartbeat away from the Presidency? *shiver*
If Obama himself wasn't enough to energize Democrats -- or anyone with common fucking sense for that matter -- the threat of more hyper-Christian lunacy in our government should do the trick nicely.
I wish anyone doing press for McCain the best of luck in just finding new and innovative ways to bullshit.
Because if this guy is all they got, they are screwed.
Complete pwnage.
Why does Tucker eerily begin to remind me of this?

This is just fucking great. I love the Campbell Brown vid but I wish she continued to go after him for like 10 minutes.
It's like Christmas for those of us with common sense!
HOLY CRAP THAT'S FUNNY.
Commander of the Alaska National Guard.
"That's foreign policy experience."
FAIL
FOREIGN POLICY FAIL
YOU WANT THAT FAT PIPE OF GAS?
JUST WALK AWAY, AND I WILL GRANT YOU SAFE PASSAGE THROUGH THE ALASKA WASTELAND!

(I didn't believe it until I emailed a source at a big news outlet who assured me they'd confirmed it's real)
OMG that Levi blog is hysterical. The comments are priceless...
So jacki, I guess we can now make fun of the McCain/Palin Ticket Celebrity status!
F-ing douchebaggery.
So here's my question about that Campbell Brown interview. Why don't all reporters question all politicians and their staff people that way? That would be a great service to this country.
And lastly do Palin or any other right wing zealots realize that the God of Islam and Christianity are the same. So what is she saying, Dad has decided to play favorites with his kids.
Lets see what douchebaggery the Republican ticket has going for them:
McCain. Old douchebag.
Palin. Inexperienced religious nut soon to be grandma douchebag.
Tucker. BIG douchebag.
Carly Fiorina. Just a complete C*NT out for nothing more than the advancement of big business and lining her pockets. There aint a douchebag big enough.
Chez, this isnt shooting fish in a barrel, its dropping grenades in a bucket!
Campbell Brown just gave me a boner.
And I'm a chick.
Nuff said.
Not gonna lie, at the very end, the look of shear disbelief/bemusement on Campbell's face is totallyworth listening to Tucker talk out of his ass about "national emergencies in Alaska" and its relevance to foreign policy experience that preceded.
Chez...I beg of you, use this pic next time. Adding the text "America! Fuck Yeah" gets you extra points!

Well I was going to send you that interview but it looks like you're one step ahead.
Good stuff
So let me understand this correctly...the words of pastor's and the church you attend are fair game now. Just to be clear. Let us pray for the safety of our troops, or God Damn America. Hmmm... I wonder which the American public will find more frightening? I think this will be a losing strategy for the Democrats.
Whether it's a losing strategy or not, there's a difference between the Reverend Wright saga and a candidate actually saying herself that the mission in Iraq is God's will.
After the past eight years, I'm ready to stay very far away from just about anyone who talks like that. I've had enough horseshit religious nonsense tied into this country's leaders and its pursuits, thanks.
Not to be the grammar Nazi, but "it's goddamned job"? Tsk, tsk.
Hey, what else is there for us Europeans to do? We're way beyond laughing at the stupidity that is the US election, so we have to find hobbies, finding holes in grammar as the ... words ... and happenings ... just ... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
The seriously mind-numbingly scary thing is that these morons could be running the US in a year. Unbelievable.
Before you go lobbing anymore left wing bombs at Sarah Palin get to know your own canidate.
"Secularists are wrong when they ask believers to leave their religion at the door before entering into the public square. Frederick Douglas, Abraham Lincoln, Williams Jennings Bryant, Dorothy Day, Martin Luther King - indeed, the majority of great reformers in American history - were not only motivated by faith, but repeatedly used religious language to argue for their cause. So to say that men and women should not inject their "personal morality" into public policy debates is a practical absurdity. Our law is by definition a codification of morality, much of it grounded in the Judeo-Christian tradition."
-Barack Obama
I'm surprised McCain didn't start shouting, "This is not 'Nam. This is Politics. There are rules.", before telling the reporter to "Mark it zero!".
Sorry, in my mind John McCain was replaced by Walter Sobchak. Same difference.
Anon 8:31 --
Oh I'm well aware of where Obama stands on issues of faith. He's right when he calls any attempt to excise talk of it from political discourse a "practical absurdity" (and by the way, try to imagine George Bush regularly using language like that). Seriously though, go back and read the above quote again; invoking faith and claiming that the war in Iraq is some sort of mission for God are two entirely different things and to think otherwise is shockingly obtuse.
as a matter of interest how often is the national guard deployed in Alaska, and how exactly would that be an advertisement for a governor?
+1 - Campbell Brown
Man is it about goddamn time that somebody from the msm stepped up and said something about this. Now, can we get somebody to call Palin out as a fucking hypocrite for this baby fiasco. Stop treating potential presidents with kid gloves.
I'm not convinced Palin could command a troop of Girl Scouts, let alone the National Guard.
Anon 8:31 --
Actually, let me allow Sam Harris, author of The End of Faith to say exactly what I was trying to say in my last comment, only far more articulately.
" Needless to say, I find Obama's religious pandering repulsive. The suspicion that he is PANDERING, out of obvious necessity, and not quite as religious as he makes out, is somewhat comforting, however. But even if Obama were precisely as religious as he appears, he is not a Creationist, Rapture-Ready blockhead. Palin, by all appearances, seems to be one. This is a difference worth noting. Whatever you may think of his politics, Obama is very intelligent and reasonably well educated. Palin thinks the universe is 6000 years old."
I've always said George W. is a modern day Javert...misdirected, stubborn, proud. This train of thought is too terrifying for words.
