Listening Post



You may not have heard of Eric Matthews, but his melodic, symphonic sound has found its way into bands like the Dandy Warhols and Ivy -- as well as the work of Elliott Smith, Lou Barlow and Jason Faulkner -- all of whom he's either produced or played alongside.

Matthews's 1995 album It's Heavy In Here is a true hidden gem, and this was the first single from it: the appropriately named Fanfare.

Always loved the drumming on this... Isn't the bassline melody in the intro theme riffing on "All the young dudes?"
