It seems this superstitious nonsense (you're right, it does not belong in this century) is proving hard to eradicate.
African children have been trafficked to the UK for the purpose of 'black magic' sacrifices. Others have been abused or even killed because they were thought to be witches. There have been trials where people have accused others of witchcraft. One was very recent - she produced three dried fingers in court, which she said were from her daughter and were part of a spell against her! (Said spell was apparently the reason she was accused of massive benefit fraud. Yeah right.... ).
Also, the other day a woman, whose son had just been murdered, opined in all seriousness that the murderer must be possessed by demons. I feel for her grief, but her beliefs are primitive in the extreme.
Multiculturism my arse - this kind of shit needs to be stamped out.
