Listening Post

An extraordinary video from an act that may single-handedly be trying to bring a little consciousness back to hip-hop.

Here's Flobots, with Handlebars.

You just made my day. Nothing is better than being introduced to new music.

Love this song. I've had it on my iPod for about a month, but have yet to see the video. Great imagery. Thanks for that, Chez!

Fantastic song. The rest of the album is good, as well. It's such a good combination of old school rap sensibility with a little indie flavor.

This song, really???

I've had this pushed on me for awhile and I just don't get it.

Good video? Yes.
Politically Conscience? Sure.
Good song? Hells no.

These guys just are not talented in my book. Give me Common, Ghostface Killah, Nas, or The Streets any day over Flobots. This song, and most of the album, feels awkward, juvenile and really badly written.

Stunning. Never heard of these people but I will not forget them. Brilliant

I'm not really into Flobots that much, their sound is a little to bland for me. If you are into progressive hip hop though, you should check out Solillaquists of Sound. Their lyrics are amazing, some of them even involve feminism, which is realllllly rare in hip hop.

Hooray! I've been wondering if these guys would catch your attention. Love em to pieces. Major attractions for me are obviously the quality of the lyrics, and the horn section. I love me anything with a good horn section. And yeah, kel, Stand up is freakin awesome as well.

Never seen the video before, thanks for that, Chez.
