I promise not to turn this place into Oooh-Look-at-the-Baby Central -- mostly because, let's face it, that wouldn't quite gel with the overall misanthropic tone that you've probably come to expect from these proceedings. In fact, once Jayne's home from the hospital, the two of us will probably create some kind of separate site for Inara stuff. (Aren't we so 2000s?)
For now though, a couple more pictures from our little girl's first day wandering the world.

Hey, you've earned a couple "look at the baby" posts, and besides that kid's adorable. Again, congratulations and I hope your wife is recovering well.
And to fulfill my quota of snarky comments for today, yesterday's post being right above the Robert Novak one can only mean one thing...your daughter is going to bring down Robert Novak. Not kill him, just shake his evil influence to the core and leave him retired.
I know these types of things...fate talks to me. Either fate, or a disassociative personality pretending to be fate, but really there's an equal amount of trust between the two.
I guess she gets her good looks from her mother... Congratulations.
BTW: Jennifer had her boy two weeks back (8lb 15oz!). Mother and Gigantaur are doing well.

May she drive you both nuts being too smart for her own good as a child. May the gray hairs sprout on your head as she begins dating as a teenager. May she grow up to be a strong and intelligent and beautiful woman. May all three of you love every minute of it.

You sure make some good babies there, my friend...first Maddie, now Inara.
And to some of the people who posted comments: yes, Inara is just as exquisite as her mama, but Chez is no slouch either. If you were to see Maddie (her picture was just on the site recently), you'd see his female clone - with beauty, brains, and a point of view truly original - clever and compassionate.
But I'm bias...he's one of my best friends. And Jayne is an extraordinary woman, who is actually MUCH more than just her great looks.
So I expect extraordinary things from both Maddie and Inara - and fully expect that someday they will join super powers and fight stupidity and bad manners with flair and wit.
