Hah, Maher never fails to see the true side of things.Nice choice for a quote.
Yes his New Rule concerning the Catholic pedophilia scandal was spot on. But Maher seems to me to see the "true side of things" at about a 60% rate, which isn't bad for a television political talker. My problem with him is, when he courts controversy he is likely to fall back on, "Well, I told a joke and everyone got upset." Is he saying that all his opinions are jokes and he is therefore insulated from criticism? All told though, I never miss his show.
Hahah. I have to love Bill Maher a little bit more for that crack. I've never been so proud to have been raised to be Catholic. There's a currently a big scandal at my local church. A priest, who was no longer there, has been accused of - what else? - molesting a boy. They've dragged him back from Jersey or wherever. I don't know if it is getting much national pub, this sort of thing is practically old meme, but hopefully there isn't some other priest up there doing the same. Kara
While I was watching t.v. the other evening, an infomercial came on for one of those Time-Life collector edition CDs of "uplifting Christian songs of faith."The CD is entitled: I Can Only Imagine.Take as long as you need.
Great quote. Unfortunately, that was definitely one of his writers and not Maher himself. His show was terrible and his monologues awkward during the writer's strike.
