Loving Poe, as you may know, is a craving and I try to find my fix with something new from her every now and again only to find her very dated website. That is until recently.http://www.repoezessed.com/Looks like she has a new project in the works! And she's asking for people to record their dreams so she can undoubtedly mix them into music with her melodic lilt.
Poe's cool, but her brother is the shit. Mark Danielewski's novel, HOUSE OF LEAVES, is one of the best books I have ever read. HIGHLY recommended it.
The girl that lived next door to me my Freshman year in college looked exactly like Poe. I was in friggin' love with that girl. And every time I think about Poe I also think about Deliah. She was adorable.
I too love Poe almost beyond reaason. I found her through her brother (myspace actually did something worthwhile for once) Mark Danielewski. House of Leaves is seriously the craziest book you will ever read. It will actually make you feel crazy. Read it with extreme caution. But read it. The song "Angry Johnny"? About House of Leaves. "Amazed"? Yeah, also House of Leaves.
Amazed is my favorite Poe song -- period. It'll soon be turning up on this site, for reasons I'll get into in a couple of days.
She can't lip synch or dance for crap...but still stared intently at my screen. Funny, that.
If you haven't had the opportunity to see her live, you really should. She's a great performer. Not only do her live performances sound just like her albums, she actually makes an effort to enagage the audience. It's a good time for all.
Poe's Haunted was the soundtrack of my life for, like, 3 years. Specifically, "Not a Virgin" and "Wild." Also, her brother's book is remarkable. Obsession-worthy, in fact. Have you read it?
I've read it.
Thanks for the video and the reference to her brother's book. Made me pull up all the Poe I have and listen to it...she's just amazing!
Yay, more Poe fans in the world! I really do hope she gives us something new soon. My reasons are purely selfish and involve being greedy for the fruits of her talent.Shallow as it is, I would so switch teams for her.And House of Leaves is one of the most frightening books I've ever read. I have a few friends who are aspiring horror writers. They're talented, but as far as I'm concerned, their ideas on twisted, eerie, and disturbing have nothing on that book.
