Jesus, No Really Man, WHY SO SERIOUS?

Wow.

It's rare that I'm the proverbial shocked or saddened by a celebrity death, but the possible suicide -- or at the very least, accidental OD -- of Heath Ledger really is heartbreaking.

He was a phenomenal actor and seemed like a decent, if I suppose not entirely well-adjusted, guy.

That's really all I've got.

Fucking shame.

That is really sad, he has a two year old daughter, just finished filming what looks to be his best role yet, and he was incredibly talented. I was very saddened when I heard the news, he was way too young.

Brad Renfro? No shock.
Amy Winehouse? A matter of "when".

Heath Ledger? Not the right guy to be dead at 28. I mean, he's the fucking Joker, right? Every actor in Hollywood wanted that role and he landed it. I've got to think this was an accident since this dude was about to have a career crescendo.

If he took his own life, then I go from saddened to pissed off VERY quickly.

He has a YOUNG CHILD for Christ's sake - and now she'll never know her dad.

And that makes him the most selfish prick in the world.

What????

He was found naked curled up on the floor at the foot of his bed.

Obviously Chez you know what happened.

The other members of his tribe bailed on him without dragging the body down to the fountain, as is the required tribal custom.

I'm with anonymous. Suicide is such a selfish act.

I do hope it wasn't intentional. Gone before his time.

No... Say it isn't so...

I just can't believe it.

This was not a celebrity death that I saw coming at all, it's so sad. And what's even sadder is that that stupid Westboro Baptist Church is planning to picket his funeral because he played a homosexual in Brokeback Mountain. Perhaps, people should start picketing Westboro Baptist Church. What a bunch of intolerant fools.

PS their phone number is listed on the press release, maybe we should all just give 'em a call.

Yeah, I saw that this morning.

I'm confused as to why the Westboro Baptist Church, which is located at 3701 SW 12th St Topeka, KS 66604, hasn't been burned to the ground.

Or at the very least, you know, Queer Eyed or something.

Although for the record, their web address, www.godhatesfags.com, never fails to make me laugh.

And in case anyone is too lazy to look it up (or can't get on the website, 'cuz it's pretty busy this morning...I wonder why) the phone number is 785-273-0325, ask for Fred Phelps.

The only reason I haven't driven to Topeka with a can of gasoline and some oily rags and a crowbar (to bar the door and make sure they're all inside...of course) is that I'd get life in jail for killing a bunch of intolerant, hate mongering, useless people. I don't think there's anything more vile then when they picket military funerals. I can't think of a more hurtful of insensitive thing a "church" has ever done.

definitely tragic. apparently he was taking ambien, and recently there have been "bizarre and potentially dangerous" reactions reported. he may have had pneumonia at the time as well, and there is a warning on the drug label about taking it with respiratory infections. who knows. i would like to think this was accidental and that it wasn't even an overdose. i would like to think that no parent would be so stupid as to behave so irresponsibly. i know, if course, how untrue that is. as a new parent, i can't imagine doing anything over than doing everything to take care of my baby (he currently has the sniffles and i'm practically devastated). he seemed to love his daughter and have his life together, and to see him go so young is very sad. there are plenty of others in hollywood who deserve this far more than him. and they probably won't get the message by seeing this either.

Yeah I was going to mention the Westboro thing when I saw that earlier this morning.

Although infuriating, it gets funnier when you consider that either these hateful, toothless, backwards yahoos have an inexhaustible travel budget (not likely) or, they are collectively too stupid to realize that Heath is from Australia, and his funeral will be about 2,500 miles further than any rusty 1955 F100 could possibly take them.

P.S. Us homos find the Westboro Baptist lunatics quite entertaining - so leave them alone please.

hey self-righteous asshats who were so eager to jump on their high-horse and smugly call him a selfish prick for committing suicide:
1) it looks like it was an accident.
2) if it had been suicide, please take one moment and think about the level of sheer emotional hell one would have to be in to give up on life at the height of a well-respected and intriguing career, and with a young daughter he was by all accounts extremely devoted to. even those "selfish" enough to be clinically depressed deserve compassion.
