Seriously Mindblowing (Update)

(The studio approved trailer is now up, crystal clear and in all its kick-ass glory. Enjoy.)

Here it is -- your first real glimpse of The Dark Knight, and all the reassurance you need that Heath Ledger was in fact the perfect choice to play The Joker.

The reimagined character is infinitely darker than the cartoonish movie and TV portrayals we've become used to; it's instead a throwback to the earlier Joker designs in spirit, and Ledger apparently plays him more like a psychotically villainous version of The Crow than the comparatively cuddly Romero and even Nicholson models.

Mark your calendars now.

Say all you want about the early TV and even movie adaptations of the joker with 1 exception, Mark Hamill was AMAZING as the joker on the Batman Animated series, and he is who Ledger has been consulting with, I cannot fucking wait to see this movie.

The vid got pulled.

I hope the Joker is presented/played like the Miller/Dark Knight version. Maybe someday they'll get around to the Superman/Batman conflict -- that would be cool.

Merry Christmas! //c

The video link isn't working. Fix it! I'm far too lazy to go and find it myself...

Dammit! Already gone. I'm salivating, SALIVATING I tell you, over this upcoming movie.

You can see it at wwtdd.com (and probably many other places). The quality is what you'd expect from a hand-held camcorder in a dark theatre, but for the insatiably curious it is worth a look.

Thank you for sharing the trailer. Looks to be a great sequel to the pre-quel.

I'm a comic book fan, and it always makes me happy to see good comic-to-movies happen (and very sad to see the opposite).

Ah but do you have the desktop countdown clock? 213 Days 7 hours 31 minutes and 30 seconds ... and counting!

Allow Yer Bunche to weigh in on this one.

As you may or may not know, I absolutely fucking hated BATMAN BEGINS for a number of reasons — although it was definitely the best of the live-action Batman flicks, what they did to my man Ra's Al-Ghul was a crime that used nothing of what he is as a character, keeping only his name — and as a result have zero interest in the upcoming sequel. Have you seen Batman's new outfit? He looks like he's made out of fucking gray Legos!

Anyway, I have nothing against Heath ledger, and if he's been consulting with Mark Hamill, the definitive prtrayal of the Joker, animated or otherwise, tha's cool by me. What I don't like is that the makeup on him as the Joker makes him look like a kabuki actor whose just gone down on a chick with a preiod so heavy it might as well be arterial spray.

And please, PLEASE let them shoot the action sequences so that they're visually coherent.

Always honored to hear from you Bunche. You know I will certainly step aside and defer to you on matters such as these sir.

I wanted to ask this before, but why the fuck are studios so eager to pull ADVERTISEMENTS?

I won't argue with the fuss over programming which relies on advertising or subscription revenues. But ads? They should be grateful. Every day in marketing departments and ad agencies there's douchebags working overtime to create the next big viral sensation. Eventually they realize that it's damn near impossible to "create" a viral. It usually just happens

I can't believe I typed out "preiod." I'm supposed to be a professional, for fuck's sake!
