This Tragic Affair

My fixation with My Chemical Romance continues, particularly since my wife and I just got tickets to see them on February 23rd at the Nassau Colliseum.

This may very well be that mid-life crisis after all.

Here's the new video, Famous Last Words.

We're usually on the same page when it comes to all things music fella, but somebody lent me their latest effort at the w/end and I remain to be impressed. I can't help but feel that they just sound like a thousand other bands out there. Maybe I'll give it one more spin.

Maybe that's the point. Maybe the point is to not sound new and and super artistic. Maybe the point is to just make a really well made rock album and do it strictly for the love of doing so, Maybe it's to make that 1000 other bands step up their goddamned game and really make some good music and not this corporate meat-grinder stuff...

This album, this song particularly, Is really very good. It's not earth shattering or mind bending. But it's very solid. And very approachable and listenable. It's nice to just have a rock record minus the pretense.

I just wish this song didn't resonate with me because of the recent failure of my relationship.

Good find, Chez. Good find.

I have a really diverse music taste and I really can't stand my chemical romance... the whole concept of pretending you have an awful tragic life when you don't, i cannot understand. they sound annoying as well. Emos piss me off even more than chavs these days. at least chavs have comedy value. emos have just destroyed the rock and roll/ punk genre. people say "you listen to rock it makes you an emo.." and i want to slap them.
